Hygienics Introduction/Tube Range
Stainless Steel Hygienic is the name given
to a range of tube and Fittings used in
applications requiring a clean and sanitary
Flow of liquids and where it is essential to
avoid contamination of the products being
carried.
These applications cover the food
processing, beverage, biotech and
pharmaceutical industries including
breweries and dairies.
The applications are low pressure with a
maximum of 150lbs.
The products are available in grades 304
and-316L.
The size range is from 1/2 inch to 6 inch
O/D.
eliminating the risk of contamination or bug
traps as well as facilitate easy cleaning.
The tube and Fittings are offered with a
choice of
external finishes:
• Descaled
• Bright Annealed
• Dull Polished
• Semi-Bright or Bright Polished.
Manufacturing standards
Hygienic tubes are manufactured to ASTM
A270, DIN 11850, ISO 2037 and BS 4825 Part
1.
Hygienic Fittings are manufactured to BS
4825 Parts 2 to
5,3A,DIN11851,DIN11852,DIN11853 and SMS
1145,SMS11183,
Markings on tube and fittings
Tube and Fittings with a bright annealed or
polished finish will be unmarked.
Range/Sizes - Tube
Sizes to ASTM A270
O/D Wall Weight:1.2-2.8MM
3A
The modern concept of the 3A sanitary
standard was established in 1944 when the
Surgeon General of the United States Public
Health Service (FDA) and the Chairman of the
Sanitary Standards Subcommittee of the Dairy
Industry's five national trade associations
committed to full cooperation with the 3A
program.
The purpose of the 3A Sanitary Standard is
to formulate design criteria to cover a
single piece of equipment relating to
accepted practices by users, equipment
manufacturers and the International
Association of Milk, Food and Environmental
Sanitarians.
Once the 3A Sanitary Standard becomes
effective for a manufacturer's selected
equipment, authorization to use the 3A
Standard symbol comes from eight board
members of the Dairy Industry Council, the
Dairy and Food Industry Association and the
International Association of Milk, Food and
Environment Sanitarians.
The use of the symbol assures processors
that the equipment meets sanitary standards,
provides accepted sanitary designs and
establishes uniform guideline by
Sanitarians.

DIN
DIN,the German Institute for
Standardization,is a registered
association,founded in 1917.Its head office
is in Berlin. Since 1975 it have been
recognized by the German Government as the
national standards body and represents
German interests at International and
European level.DIN11851-Fittings for
food,chemical and pharmaceutical
industry;Stainless steel screwed pipe
connections;Design for rolling in and
welding-on.DIN 11852-Valves for food and
chemical industries;stainless steel
fittings;Tee,bends,reducers for welding-on.
DIN32676-Clamp Fittings for the clamp and
ferrules.DIN11851/2 and DIN32676 standards
are used on the majority of the German
hygienic equipment and are gaining
widespread acceptance.
BS
BS4825-Stainless Steel tubes and fittings
for the food industry and other hygienic
applications.BS is widely used throughout
the UK hygienic industries. It can be used
on permanently installed pipelines but it is
also designed for use where system are
frequetnlydismantled.RJT-confirming to
BS4825 part 5 and should be used in
application where manula cleaning is
employed.Particularly suited where liens are
frequently dismantled due to thier robust
construction and ease of alignment.
DIN EN ISO 1127
The ISO pipes are described in terms of
dimensions in the standard ''DIN EN ISO 1127
stainless steel pipes'' (issued by
BeuthVerlag GmbH, D-10722 Berlin)
http://www.beuth.de. This standard derives
from the standards DIN 2462 (dimensions of
seamless pipes) and DIN 2463 (dimensions of
welded pipes).
The dimensions, limit dimensions and lengths
are defined herein. Contrary to the previous
DIN 2462 and 2463, the definitions for
seamless and welded pipes are integrated
into one standard now, thus omitting the
differences between both standards.
ISO pipes are manufactured from hot rolled
sheet metal. The surface quality related to
the parent material, which is described as
slight ''orangepeelskin'',cannot be improved
by polishing, contrary to the pipe standard
DIN 11850 and others (cold rolled strip
parent material).
Further determinations regarding the surface
quality (roughness etc.) and ferrite content
are not taken into consideration for ISO
pipes.
SMS Union
SMS or Swedish Dairy Standard Unions are a 4
piece stainless steel union comprising of a
male, nut, liner and seal. The male or
thread, meets up with the flat faced liner
and a seal sits into the male part to form a
seal. A slotted nut completes the union and
C-Spanner is used to open/close the nut. It
use a lot for the dairy industry.
DS Union
Danish Standards Foundation, DS, was
originally founded in 1926. DS is a member
of the ISO, the International
Electrotechnical Committee (IEC), the
European Committee for Standardization
(CEN), the European Committee for
Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC)
and the European Telecommunication Standards
Institute (ETSI). The DS use in Europe
Denmark,africa and South American countries
mainly.
